Wat Opot had our yearly visit from the Global Federation of Chinese Business Women. A group of dynamic GENEROUS women who support vulnerable children in South East Asia and Wat Opot Children’s Community is honored to be one of their recipients.
It felt like Christmas morning as we waited for their bus to arrive and it wasn’t long before they came pulling in. Our female ‘santas’ had arrived and they began the big task of unloading all the wonderful items onto the tables, while handing out balloons, hats, head bands and other goodies.
Our Chief Snack Inspector made sure everything was up to par.
Many of the ladies have been coming for years so they set about comparing their phone photos from past years to the smiling faces in front of them. The primary school kids were not home from school yet, so the high school kids (who had a day off) were able to have quality time with our visitors.
At 11:01 the place exploded! The primary school let out and it was time for pictures!
Even Wayne and Melinda were given special gifts brought all the way from Japan especially for them.
As Wayne gave a short tour, everyone pitched in to bring the goodies to their proper storage rooms.
Of course, being Watopotians and all, we did it in style.
The next day the items were sorted and individual goodie bags were filled with school and art supplies, toiletries, games, and misc. items which was handed out at meditation.
With our monetary donations we are able to provide the kids with the necessities to be healthy and happy. But as in many families, going above and beyond requires a little help, the physical donations of goods is our overtime pay; it’s that little extra at the end of the month that allows the kids to have just a bit more.
Thank you for your continued support,
