So I thought that the next step would be buying flowers, but I quickly realized that the soil was hard and full of small rocks. It needed to be tilled and many of the rocks had to be removed before I could even think about planting.
Enter eager helpers again! I would hoe a little then the kids would dive in and collect all the rocks.
It was slow going, but we made progress…until the force of the hoe cut a hole into a water pipe, which of course I had no idea was there!
It was fixed relatively quickly and the children quickly adapted to their new environment…
After all the mayhem, and everyone was cleaned up nicely, me and my trusty sidekick Chanrai, got to work washing the mud out of their clothes (and then mine)!
But at the end of the day…the dirt was primed and ready for flowers!
Stay tuned for part 4!
