Lots of children pass through our program … some more vulnerable than others. Many of them stay for months or years, while others leave when they become adults. A few stay only for a short time and then return home, not necessarily because the conditions that brought them to us have changed, but because a parent or grandparent misses them. It is always difficult to release a child once we have accepted them, especially when they are young. But we keep a check on those that are returned and support their families if needed… but it is not always easy to let go.
Such is life at Wat Opot.
Thanks for dropping in!
