Thanks to Mr. Sunny and a group of his Taiwanese business friends, we were able to take all of the 25 children, who were not able to visit relatives this Khmer New Year, to Phnom Penh for a weekend of fun, food, and games. We started at Kids City where there were many interesting (and costly) activities. Bumper cars was a lot of fun for everyone, however…
shooting each other with lasers was something I didn’t like nearly as much… although it was the highlight for those who did it.
After the games the children were all given $10.00 to spend on whatever they wanted. We then boarded the vans and went to the Aeon Mall where some of the children got to show off some of their talents in front of a live audience, while we were waiting for the 3D movie, Boss Baby, to start.
After the movie we were taken to an ALL YOU CAN EAT restaurant where the kids surprised me at how much they could consume. I had reminded them all day long of the cost of entrance to the place and told them I would be upset if they did not eat a lot… they did not disappoint me.
After we had eaten our fill, they rolled us out to the vans and took us to our sleeping dorm… soft mattress, air conditioned rooms, and all the snacks we wanted.
The following morning we visited the Royal Palace…
and than we walked to the National Museum…
and we ended the day with a picnic and games in the parking lot.
Our Thanks to Mr. Sunny and his team and all of those who donated money and supplies for this Great Experience.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
