We have the beautification bug! After the success of the completed first flower garden, it only made sense to start on an area next to it…since admiring one led your eyes to the other. I didn’t get a ‘before’ photo but you can see the overgrown area in the background of the group shot and then a couple during the first trim of the bushes.
While we were trimming, we started removing rocks again!
The trimming lead to cutting down the one large twisted tree, as it just wasn’t forming well and there was no shortage of workers wanting to use the saw.
There were so many rocks in this area; like a ridiculous amount! Although I had multiple helpers removing stubborn roots and other debris, Mr. Nhanh was my super worker and put in hours picking and sifting them out. Singlehandedly he carted away 4 wagon-fulls with 4 to 5 buckets per load. I finally had to force him to stop as my back was aching and it was way past lunchtime!
And in the end, we had a pretty clean slate to start thinking about placement of the flowers and also what kind of a border to make.
