Some thought was put into a new border. I didn’t want to make the same as last time and rocks just don’t give it enough personality…so what to make?
We still had some leftover bamboo, so wanted to include that in. Perusing the craft room for an idea to pop into my head, I came across this large box of “big ugly beads” (or what I deem big and ugly). The beads in this box are large and plastic and although at one time may have made beautiful necklaces, they are long past their prime. Hmmm, could these beads be used to form some sort of chain link fence?
As I set those beads aside, and started sifting through our vast assortment of ‘non-ugly’ beads, another lightbulb went off above my head. Each child could make one special length of beads, but WAIT, we have a large selection of letter beads so they could be personalized lengths!
So I set to work making a length of wire for each child as the bamboo cutters were hard at work outside.
And then with my trusty name list spreadsheet checked and double checked to make sure no one was inadvertently left out, the kids start making their mini masterpieces.
Part 3 coming up!
