Walking to my door multiple times a day made me smile. The kids would come and look at their handiwork and comment on how pretty the new plants were. They wanted to help water them and just enjoy the beauty of nature. I would see the new planters and look at how nice they made the area…then my eyes would look further to the whole outside grassy area and my smile would fade. Something could (or should) be done there.
Working on another project was easy, after the kids saw what we had accomplished earlier a gaggle of willing little helpers appeared! First, we started clearing a space around the tree-like plants (if anyone knows what they are called let me know!)
Then we went looking for big stones to place around them. This not only took effort and strength, it wore the kids out right before nap time. SCORE!
With the trees finished…we moved on to the whole length of the wall, weeding the hard ground and placing the large stones as we went.
Next step buying plants!
Part 3 coming soon!
