We were finally able to finish both areas and although it was beautiful and the kids LOVED walking by and admiring their personalized creations, I couldn’t stop thinking about the bottom wires. I hadn’t fully thought it through and made the holes too far apart, so the poor lower beads became dirtier every time we watered the plants. Some were almost completely covered by mud.
So after a couple of weeks, I pulled them all up, unstrung each post and drilled another hole higher up the bamboo. I gathered some willing helpers and we began the tedious process of cleaning the beads, hammering the bamboo poles into place and then stringing the wires through the holes again.
The revised border looks much better and will keep the children’s masterpieces nice and clean!
And the final finished “second” flower garden.
Thank you for going on this journey with us and it is our sincere hope many of you will be able to see its growth in person someday.
