We had promised the kids a pizza party over Khmer New Year last month, but with Phnom Penh in lockdown we were unable to get cheese. I was finally able to go in last weekend and bought a huge block of mozzarella so today was the day!
Wayne made some delicious pizza sauce and then got a group of kids busy cutting veggies, some very strange sweet pork sausages and of course grating the cheese. He was then called away for another cremation, so the girls and I took over making the dough and Dara helped too! The dough making was a major undertaking. We ended up making 10 batches because we really had no idea how much we would need.
After the first couple of batches finished rising, the fun part began and we utilized every baking pan we had! Luckily we have an industrial size oven and were able to cook them efficiently.
The kids outside were so hungry smelling the wonderful aroma coming from the kitchen and they couldn’t wait to dig in. Ben the dog got his fair share also.
The best photo by far is this one! Ha ha
