With the new roads and swimming pool completed, we have time now to make improvements on some of the older structures that had fallen into disrepair. One of those projects was the Peace Garden that had become overgrown and no longer suitable for meditation.
There is still some work to do on it but we have come far enough to be able to use it again. Of course, the conditions have changed over the years and instead of dying our emphasis is now on Living and one of the things I have discovered for my own Life is the importance of Meditation. I hope I can encourage the children to include meditation in their daily life.
Another project we have just started is the Quiet Center in front of the boy’s dorm. We had to fill in the pond for safety reasons but never got around to doing anything with the vacant area. The idea for the center came when we salvaged a large cement pot that had been buried in the muddy waters of the Peace Garden. I envision Lotus Flowers growing in the pot surrounded by a variety of other flowers. We will be planting a lot of trees around it as well and one day perhaps it will be used by the children as another area for meditation…
although, more than likely, it will be their favorite place to view social media on their telephones since the WI-FI is very good there.
Thanks for stopping in…we are so very grateful for those who support us in this work.
