Work begun recently on a new fence, which will eventually close in our entire community and it is expected to be finished in about 3 months. The work is being done by a local contractor but being paid for by the Taiwanese Businessmen’s association, which is the same group that built our Boys Dorm, pictured below.
Much of the cement work is already done close to the buildings,
But the outer sections of our land had to be cleared of trees and brush first.
When finished the fence will also cross our ponds, making it difficult for intruders to get in.
It is hoped that by keeping out the cows and other animals from the community, we will be able to get much more produce from our gardens and orchards and hopefully we will be able to raise fish in our ponds without having them stolen. This was not on our list of things to do, because of the expense, but we are sure grateful that it is being done for us.
To become more self sufficient is one of our main goals and this will be a big step in getting us closer to it.
